Sweet Cassava

A fast-growing, evergreen woody tropical shrub with long, tapered, swollen tuberous roots and attractive, palmate, finger-like leaves.  Small red or green flowers are borne in summer.  The roots can be cooked and used like potatoes, but special care has to be taken and proper research done in the preparation of it.  It contains high levels of calcium, magnesium, potassium and fibre.
