Elderberry

The Elderberry is a true multi-purpose plant that can be used as a hedge, bird and bee attractant, landscaping plant and for its abundance of berries.  Its health benefits are well-known and applied for various ailments and on a culinary level the fruit is perfect fresh or for juicing, jams, desserts, cordials and, of course, Elderberry wine.  The plant is self-pollinating but will bear even better quality fruit when pollinated with another elderberry plant.
