Peach Transvalia

Transvalia Peach

The Yellow Dessert Transvalia Peach – botanical name, Prunus Persia cultivar “TRANSVALIA” – produces medium sized, round oblong fruit with red blushed skin on a yellow back colour. The flesh is yellow to orange with a juicy, sweet taste. This is a clingstone peach that has a fine, firm, non melting texture.

The fruit ripens from mid November and grows with a height and spread of about 4m by 4m. This is one of the top yellow dessert peaches and is early ripening. This fruit tree has a semi-upright growth habit with moderate vigour. Grows best in Summer rainfall areas and has a moderate production and good quality fruit.

Peaches like areas with cold, frosty Winters and are tough, hardy and easy to grow. Annual judicious pruning in July is recommended, with the fruit born on branches of the previous season’s growth.
