Tayberries are a cross between raspberries and blackberries with all the good qualities – the great taste and colour of the raspberry and the large size, fruit firmness and vigorous growth of the blackberry – to show. The plant is a strong grower that needs support in the form of a fence or trellis. It can be grown in a large pot but must never be allowed to dry out. The Tayberry ripens from February into autumn and the edible fruit is perfect fresh or in jams, tarts, desserts, juices or teas. It contains valuable anti-oxidants.
