Lycium barbarum

Goji Berry

Rated as one of the world’s 10 super foods and packed with anti-oxidants and all the other good stuff, the goji berry should find a place in every garden.  They will also happily grow in pots if kept moist and fed regularly.  It is a deciduous, fast-growing, rambling shrub that needs support and regular training and pruning to keep in compact and bushy. It produces small, purple flowers followed by masses of oval shaped, orange to red berries from mid-summer into autumn.  The berries are delicious and sweet and are perfect for juicing, tea, jams, tarts, desserts or as fresh fruit.
