Syzygium paniculatum is very popular, fast-growing, evergreen shrub with neat glossy foliage. It bears cream, powder-puff flowers in summer (loved by bees), followed by edible, pink berries (loved by birds). It has many applications in large and small gardens, where it can be pruned into hedges, screens and topiaries or used in beds, borders and containers. The standard version looks really lovely in containers on patios, verandas and balconies.
