Sea Berry / Sea Buckthorn

A great all-rounder, the Sea Berry is not only packed with health benefits, but the shrub can also be used in a variety of ways in the garden and landscaping.  It is an easy-to-grow, hardy plant that can be used as hedge, windbreak or screen and as a pioneer plant on new sites.  There are many uses for the berries, which includes fresh eating or processed for pulps, juices, preserves, oils and medicinal products.  Interestingly, sea buckthorn oil may be one of the only plant foods known to provide all four omega fatty acids — omega-3, omega-6, omega-7 and omega-9.  Note that the Sea Buckthorn has separate male and female plants, so at least one male plant is need to pollinate the female plants.
