Ribes uva-crispa is a small shrub that bears fairly large, edible green to purple berries, perfect for eating fresh or for juicing, preserves, tarts, cordials and desserts.  It is indigenous to most parts of Europe and Western Asia and can tolerate heavy frosts.  The shrub can be grown in beds or in large pots.  It is self-pollinating.
