This beautiful unique evergreen shrub has green leaves with spiral arrangement and linear shaped. The clusters of fragranced flowers appear on long spikes and are not showy, they only occur on the male specimens during winter. It bears pineapple-like fruit which attracts squirrels and other mammals. The female plant is preferred for landscape use.
