A hardy, evergreen, clump forming ornamental grass with arching, dark purple to jet black leaves. The dramatic foliage makes it a very popular feature and contrasting plant. Use as a filler between pavers. Attractive en masse under trees, in beds and rockeries and next to pathways and borders, particularly in oriental and modern contemporary gardens. Also very good in pots.
