Lotus berthelotii

Parrot’s Beak

This trailing perennial bears soft, silver-grey, needle-like leaves resembling Christmas tinsel and pea-like bright crimson flowers produced among the foliage. These blooms look so much like parrot’s beaks, believed to attract bird pollination. They’re ideal planting in hanging baskets, cascading over walls or scrambling amongst rocks on a bank.
