The tree produces small, round, juicy orange fruits which contains a few seeds at full maturity and small leaves that are dense, giving the tree a fine textual appearance. The fruit is used to make marmalades or jams. It is primarily planted as an ornamental shrub and makes an excellent container plant, the sweetly scented flowers make the shrub have a more decorative appeal of the trees.
