Royal Apricot

One of the best tasting varieties, the Royal apricot produces medium to large fruit with orange-yellow skin, slightly blushed with red when it ripens from mid-December.  The yellow-orange flesh has a soft texture and complex sweet taste with a hint of tartness.  Royal is very popular for drying, but also good for jams and preserves and excellent for fresh eating.  The tree is not an overly strong grower, which makes it ideal for small gardens and even very large pots.
